Recently we held a Impasto paint night in the studio. Due to Covid and limited space we limited it to a small number. We had 4 in attendance. Our subject was sunflowers. We had a great time and we all learned a lot from each other. I was the instructor and Gina assisted. I can honestly say we were pleasantly suprised with how talented the four students were! Impasto is a painting technique where paint is applied in thick layers usually using a palette knife or brush. The paint, once dry will have a textured 3D appearance and give much depth. We used acrylic paint mixed with heavy modeling gel medium. All supplies were furnished and by the end of the class, everyone had a beautiful canvas painting to take home! We plan on having more classes, once the Covid virus is better under control. Check back at our website for future classes on various painting techniques, pottery and jewelry making!
