"Mizuki" Encaustic painting

$250.00

“Mizuki” which is Japanese for “Beautiful Moon,” is a 11x12 x1.5 encaustic abstract painting by artist Carrie Hullar. This Asian inspired painting was created with Jacquard metallic powdered pigments of copper, gold and Mink. The moon has hand embellished gold leaf around the edges. The painting is on solid pine that Carrie used a technique called Shou Sugi Ban. This technique involves burning the edges of the wood to give depth and texture. Carrie wanted to convey the view of a golden moon from a window of a Japanese home. The simplicity of this wax beauty will look gorgeous in any room with neutral or contemporary tones and decor.
